Mrs. NotHemingway went to her exercise class tonight and I hung out with our daughter, the increasingly picky eater. She had beans and rice (she had meat only for lunch) and I had a Spinach Salad with Warm Garlic Dressing (as well as sun dried tomatoes, capers, olives, and spices). I took it from one of Donna Hay’s books and put it on the list of things to try. When I got home from work, Mrs. NotHemingway had it all finished except for the final “warming” step. On the side she had a clay dish with olive oil, salt and shredded fresh basil as well as chunks of ciabatta in the oven. I followed her instruction and soaked the ciabatta in the oil and enjoyed it just like they serve at one of our favorite restaurants in Prague, Hergetova Cihelna. It was a magnificent dinner. She came home and had the same. Smart and a good cook. Hard to beat that!
