Flammkuchen or Tart Flambée

We spent last weekend in Lindau, Germany. It is on the Bodensee Lake and at the unique intersection of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.  It’s also very close to France and the Alsace.  While there we ate well.  Very well.  But we were most excited to see the Flammkuchen on the menu in one place.  Think of it as an Alsace (French/German) pizza.  Cheese, ham, and creme fraiche.  Simple and delicious.  We’ve never made it but this looks like a good recipe.  We’ll be giving it a try soon.

    Hey “Not Hemingway”
That is some pretty good looking Flamkuchen…we lived in Germany 3 years…I miss that. Anyway, I guess you’re as talented as your one fellow blogger with the 40th b-day in the cooking department. Good for Mrs. NH. 🙂

Hey, Lucy! Yes, it’s amazing how good the food gets when you cross the border to the west. Hope all is well with you. Thanks for stopping by.
